Rock N Roll Vintage Proudly Presents Joe Barden Pickups
|
About Joe Barden Engineering™
Joe Barden Engineering™ is a company with a mix of both the new and the familiar. They have retained the best of what the former Joe Barden Pickups Inc. offered, while at the same time making changes in company structure and management that strengthens their new company.
No mass-produced pickups here. Each Joe Barden pickup is crafted in the good ol' USA right here in historic Manassas Virginia. We continue to hand-craft our products with the same commitment to quality and tone that you have come to expect from pickups that admittedly cost more, but outperform look-alike and seemingly competitive alternative pickups, making comparison to them pointless.
We believe in Joe Barden pickups and offer Joe Barden products to our customers including using Joe Barden pickups in our repair show when customers want to replace original pickups.

Joe Barden Engineering Pickup Models |
|
|
Danny Gatton T Style Telecaster Pickups
Danny Gatton T-Style pickups are the models that Joe Barden first offered. These innovative pickups created a new model of high-end replacement pickups as opposed to those that were merely variations on established designs or basic repair parts. Originally designed for Danny Gatton (and with Danny testing every step of the way) they have become the first choice of professional Telecaster players worldwide. The tone of these pickups can be described as absolutely vintage in character, but with greatly expanded fidelity. The joe Bardin T-Bridge features our unique "staggered-blade" design, common to all Joe Barden single coil sized bridge pickups, for balanced response on the outer strings. These pickups are the best imaginable for the instrument that originally defined the solid body electric guitar. Joe Barden T-Style pickups fit standard Tele body routs and require no modifications to the instrument. They utilize 4 conductor shielded cable to allow for any possible wiring combination and are supplied with wiring diagrams and mounting hardware to facilitate installation.

The Joe Barden S-Deluxe Stratocaster Pickups
The S-Deluxe models are the Stratocaster equivalent to the Danny Gatton Telecaster pickups. Two models are available; one for the bridge position and the other for the neck and middle positions.
The tone of the S-Deluxe is absolutely Strat™ in character, but with greatly expanded fidelity and a balanced frequency response. Of course, hum and noise are completely eliminated. These pickups are incredibly sensitive, giving you a wide range of tones and output levels simply by adjusting the distance of the pickup from the strings.
With S-Deluxe pickups, the "in-between" positions are wonderfully hollow, and the bridge pickup has the strength, snap, and twang typically experienced only in Telecasters.™ The unique staggered-blade design of the bridge pickup, common to all Joe Barden single-coil sized bridge pickups, eliminates drop-outs on the outer strings.

Joe Bardin Bass Style Pickups
|
|
J-Style Bass pickups offer the same great Joe Barden tone, power, and response for the bass guitar as our ground breaking double-blade guitar pickups have done for 6 string guitars for the last 25 years.
Our Joe Bardin J-Style pickups were designed to maintain authentic Jazz Bass tone and character but with extended frequency response and articulation that characterizes all Joe Barden pickups. And, like all other Joe Barden pickups, the J-Style pickups exhibit quiet performance for live performance or recording.
Now, bass players are free to tailor their sound more precisely than was possible with stock pickups, and can select one or both pickups without fear of noise or hum often induced by traditional single coil bass pickups. Neck and bridge position pickups differ in size to fit into the cavities of traditional J-Bass and similarly styled guitars without modification to the instrument.
J-Style pickups are available for both 4 and 5 string J-Bass styled bass guitars. |
Joe Bardin Humbucker HB and HB Two Tone
|
|
The HB and HB Two/Tone™ are full humbucker-sized pickups designed for players who are looking for the maximum amount of tone, sensitivity and output, without being saddled with an inherently distorted or muddy-sounding humbucker. The HB provides incredible low-end clarity and overall high sustain characteristics that make it suitable for virtually any purpose, from blues to rock to jazz.
The HB Two/Tone™ is an additional refinement of the HB pickup. The HB Two/Tone™ was designed to be the ultimate pickup for Hum/Single/Single or Hum/Single/Hum guitars, as it is literally two pickups in one: you get the HB tone when the pickup is in full mode, and when you hit the switch (a DPDT mini-switch or push/pull pot), the tone and output change to that of an S-Deluxe, so that in combination with the middle pickup, you get the perfect "in-between" sound. There is no switching noise and no hum in either mode. The HB Two/Tone™ is available for both neck and bridge positions.
The design is a complete improvement over any kind of series/parallel or split-coil wiring, as it gives you the same tone and output level as the S-Deluxe! Many musicians have told us that the HB Two/Tone™ is like a Strat pickup that turns itself into a humbucker! |
