Our Favorite Guitar Books

The Official Vintage Guitar Price Guide -2012 This is a great way to check on vintage guitar models and prices.  This year most vintage guitar prices are down significantly. The Vintage Guitar Magazine price guide continues to be the most accurate, authoritative source for vintage and used guitar prices. , and detailed publications. It values on thousands of vintage and recent-model guitars, amps, basses, effects pedals, mandolins, lap steels, and ukuleles. The VG Price Guide provides prices on used and vintage guitars.   The OFFICIAL VINTAGE GUITAR PRICE GUIDE is a must have reference vintage guitar book.

Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars - Authors George Gruhn and Walter Carter have written an excellent book which can help you date your vintage guitar using serial numbers, construction methods and options. 

Gibson Shipment Totals - This great reference guide is a must for the collector or dealer of vintage Gibson guitars, basses, mandolins, ukes, steels, banjos and amps.  Gibson Shipment Totals, 1937-1979 is a new guitar reference book for the guitar collector, dealer, player and enthusiast. This 64-page book covers all Gibson instruments and all the popular models such as the Les Paul, SG, Flying V, Firebird, L-5, Super-400, J-45, J-200, LG-1, F-5 and others. The bass guitar is undoubtedly one of the most significant instruments of this century, yet this book is the first to study its history.   A good vintage bass book.

The Beauty and the Burst - Finally, the long-awaited English edition of this historic Japanese book is here! The Beauty of the 'Burst pays tribute to Gibson's magnificent Sunburst Les Pauls made between 1958 and 1960, the most highly prized solid body electric guitars ever.   This is an excellent book for Gibson enthusiasts, the photos are amazing.
